Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima has given birth to a baby girl, her first with NBA star Marco Jaric of the Memphis Grizzlies. They have christened their daughter with the name Valentina Lima Jaric. A representative for the couple has announced that “Mother, father and baby are all doing well.”

Valentina is a popular Latin America name which means ‘healthy and strong’. Mexican actress Salma Hayek also chose the name for her daughter two years ago.

So will Mom walk down a Victoria’s Secret catwalk weeks after giving birth like VS alum Heidi Klum? And will Valentina choose to walk down a runway or down the courts of the WBNA when she grows older? Only time will tell.

Adriana 28, and husband Marco, 31, met in 2006, got engaged two years later, married back in February and announced the pregnancy soon after the honeymoon.

“We are so excited!” she announced back in May. “We wanted this. We were ready.”

Tiffani Thiessen (she dropped the Amber a long time ago Saved by the Bell fans) is expecting her first baby in May along with husband of 4 years, actor Brady Smith.

In a statement released by the couple, they share:

“We are over the moon! It’s something we’ve wanted for a long time and we are thrilled that it’s actually happening.”

Will Tiffani’s pregnancy be written into her new role as the wife of an FBI agent in USA Network’s White Collar? Only time will tell, although she recently stated in interviews that her and husband’s plans of pregnancy had been delayed by her work on the show and that “I don’t want to spring a pregnancy on a brand new show that I just got on.” She went on to add: “We’re going to wait and try to figure out when the best time is.” Well, USA Network, that time is now.

Tiffani, beside her long-running role in Saved by the Bell also had a role on the original 90210.

Former Victoria’s Secret model and Project Runway host, Heidi Klum gave birth to her fourth child on October 9th.  Proud musician father Seal, and Mom couldn’t help but release a touching tribute regarding the birth.

“It’s difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children,” Seal writes. “Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?

On Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 7:46 p.m., the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter,” he continues. “Lou Sulola Samuel was born, and from the moment she looked into both of our eyes, it was endless love at first sight. She is beautiful beyond words and we are happy that she chose us to watch her grow over the coming years.”

Quick check on Google didn’t return any hits for possible meaning or origin of  the unique moniker “Sulola” but I myself like it.  What do you think of the  name?

Annika Sörenstam may be retired from the sport of golf, but she has now moved on to another great role, that of being a mom. She gave birth to a baby girl on Tuesday, September 1, at 3:30 AM. The baby’s name is Ava Madelyn and she weighed 6lbs. 10 oz.

A statement she posted on her official website read, “Mike and I are happy to announce that I gave birth to our little girl at 3:30AM this morning. Ava Madelyn McGee is six pounds 10 ounces and 19 inches long. We are all doing well and we truly appreciate the support we have received. We are VERY excited about our new addition and will keep everyone posted in the coming weeks. Thanks!”

‘Mike’ is her husband and business manager Mike McGee. They made the announcement that they were expecting on March 19 of this year and revealed to the media in June that they were expecting a girl.

Sörenstam is one of the most recognizable names in the sport of golf. She has over 72 LPGA tour wins and has taken the Player of the Year award 8 times. In fact many have referred to her as the Tiger Woods of women’s golf. Sörenstam was inducted into the Golf World Hall of Fame in 2003.

On May 13, 2008, Sörenstam announced her retirement from the sport that made her famous. She said she would quit competition at the end of the 2008 season.

She has parlayed her success on the green into her own little empire. Her ANNIKA brand oversees a number of ventures including a clothing line, a signature fragrance and a wine label. Perhaps the jewel in her crown is The ANNIKA Academy at Ginn Reunion Resort which opened in April 2007. Her wanna-be golfers can learn to perfect their swing and golf game.

She is also involved in designing golf courses. Perhaps fittingly, the first one she worked on was the Annika Course, located at Mission Hills Golf Club in Shenzen, China. She is also working on projects in the USA. Her business ventures are said to take in the things that she cares about most, namely golf, fitness and charitable involvement.

Congratulations to this great representative of the sport of golf on the birth of her first child. I wish her continued success as a mother and as an entrepreneur. I’m sure she and her husband will enjoy being parents to a little princess.

Actress Nicole Sullivan is now a happy mom to two boys. Thirty-nine year old Sullivan gave birth to her second son on Monday, August 31 in Los Angeles. The newest member of the Packham family weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces.

Sullivan and her husband, actor Jason Packham named the latest addition to their family Beckett Edward Packham. Their first child is two-year old Dashel Pierce. During her pregnancy she was quoted by People magazine as saying, “Dash is thrilled to have a partner in crime…”  Sullivan and Packham has been married since 2006.

Sullivan is no doubt remembered for her stints on Mad TV and the sitcom The King of Queens. Most recently she has been seen in the Lifetime series Rita Rocks. She plays a working mom who started a garage band with her neighbor. In a case of art imitating life, her pregnancy was written into the show. Interestingly, during her stint on The King of Queens, her co-star Leah Remini became pregnant and the crew had to come up with creative ways to hide that fact.

The new season of Rita Rocks will premiere in October. My guess is that writers will probably draw on some of her life experience to add more essence to her character. The idea of the working mom trying to hold things together never gets old.

Coincidentally, her Rita Rocks co-star Tisha Campbell-Martin is expecting her second child later this year. Aside from saying that she is certain that this baby will be her last, 40 year old Campbell-Martin also said, “Every moment, every nauseous moment, everything that is good and not so good about being pregnant, I’m enjoying.”

Sullivan certainly seemed to have taken advantage of her pregnancy to indulge a bit. She was quoted as saying during her pregnancy, “…and I am enjoying all the eating that comes along with being pregnant.” She had a baby shower on Saturday August 8 that was sponsored by Happy Heinys, the makers of reusable diapers. Sullivan also got gifts from Orbit Baby and Skip Hop among others.

Congratulations to Nicole Sullivan and Jason Packham on the birth of their second child. Hopefully her stressed out mom from her TV show won’t be in any way similar to her real life. Good luck to her with her future projects.

Actress and reality TV star Tori Selling has become the latest celebrity to launch a children’s clothing line. According to reports published online she recently revealed the new line, Little Maven at Bloomingdale’s in Century City. The new brand will offer clothes for children up to the age of four. The prices range from $26 to $88. At the launch, Spelling with her daughter Stella in tow, signed autographs and chatted with fans.

Spelling has said that with Little Maven she wants to incorporate style and comfort, as well as the bright colors that usually appeal to children. As the daughter of the late TV mogul Aaron Spelling, she had to endure suggestions of nepotism when he helped her early in her career. Now she seems to be forging ahead on her own in the wake of his passing. Nicole Richie, the daughter of Lionel Richie has also come out of her father’s shadow to star in a reality series and launch her own line of maternity clothes for A Pea in a Pod.

Spelling was previously married to Charlie Shanian, but the marriage ended in April 2006. She has been married to actor Dean McDermott since May 2006. Aside from the aforementioned Stella who is one, they have two-year old son, Liam. Spelling’s reality show was originally titled, Tori & Dean: Inn Love for its first two seasons. This was changed to Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood for its third season. The first episode premiered in March 2007 on the Oxygen Network. Recently Spelling’s mother Candy Spelling, with whom she has a strained relationship, accused her and her husband Dean of using the children as “props’ in their show in an open letter to Tori which was posted on TMZ.

I wish Tori Spelling luck with her children’s clothing line, as well as her future career plans. Here’s hoping too that she and her mother will be able to reconcile. After all, the grandparent – grandchild relationship is important too.

After a brush with preterm labor last month, Dustin Pedroia’s wife, Kelli, delivered a healthy baby boy on Tuesday, August 18th.  This is the first child for the couple.  The boy, whom they christened Dylan weighed in at 7 lbs.

Dustin Pedroia is the second baseman for the Boston Red Sox.  There were concerns he wouldn’t be able to make it to the birth but he made it just in the nick of time with a last-minute flight back from Toronto to be at his wife’s side.

His teammates have all been supportive.  Says Kevin Youkilis:

“I think it’s great for him after everything she’s been through [referring to her brush with preterm labor], Dustin’s been through mentally. It’s going to be a great thing for Dustin.”

Manager Terry Francona has put no pressure on the new Dad’s return, saying: “I told him his first responsibility is Kelli and that child.” Wish all bosses would show the same support, eh?

Congratulations to the new parents!

She was asked during the interview if she had plans for any more children and she responded, “Everybody keeps asking me that. But three boys? That’s a lot.”

It seems that Victoria Beckham has her hands full. At least that is the impression she gave in a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. This is a bit of a turnaround for the former Spice Girl. In the past she has openly spoken about her desire for a girl. According to the latest reports however, she has decided that three is enough.

She was quoted online as saying,  “I get up early in the morning, get the kids ready for school, take them to school. Then while they’re at school I manage to get my work in. I have to be done by 3pm so I can pick up the kids.” Victoria Beckham and her husband, soccer star David Beckham’s three boys are Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, 6, and Cruz,4.

While any parents are likely to scoff at the suggestion that Victoria Beckham has her hands full, remember dealing with one child can be sufficiently taxing. It all depends on the situation. For Beckham’s part, it’s possible her current career track could be influencing her family plans. She recently landed a guest judge stint on the popular talent search show American Idol. She also has her hands full with her Autumn/Winter dress collection.

At any rate, the decision to expand a family is not one that should be taken lightly. It’s possible also that she just wants to keep her future baby plans a secret. I certainly couldn’t fault her for that one, given the intense scrutiny celebrities generally endure.

Whatever her future plans are, I certainly wish her luck. Her hubby David Beckham seems to be having a rough time on the football field lately, so his future with the Los Angeles Galaxy does not seem as certain as it once did.

Two Hollywood family men are looking forward to adding to their families according to published reports.

Neal McDonough

McDonough reportedly let the cat out of the bag during a walk on the red carpet at the premiere of The Ugly Truth. His wife Ruve Robertson was with him, and there was no hiding the baby bump.

McDonough and Robertson have been married since December 2003 and since had two children: Morgan, 3, and Catherine Maggie, 2. The due date of the new baby has not yet been revealed.

McDonough is widely acknowledged to be a devoted family man. He is from a relatively large family, having 4 brothers and one sister. His family immigrated to the US from Ireland. After leaving Syracuse University he studied for a short period at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

McDonough has a number of film and television appearances to his credit. His big screen roles include Walking Tall and Flags of Our Fathers. Currently he can be seen in the ABC hit Desperate Housewives where he plays Dave Williams.

David Boreanaz

For actor David Boreanaz this will be his second child. He reportedly was forced to miss his scheduled appearance at the recently held Comic-Con in San Diego, California. In his taped video for his fans he said, “I’m a little bit stuck in Los Angeles due to the fact that my wife is on her 34th week (of pregnancy with) our second child.”

Boreanaz and his wife Jaime Bergman have been married since November 2001 and have a son together. This is the second marriage for Boreanaz. He was previously married to Ingrid Quinn but that union ended in 1999. His first child, Jaden Rayne is seven years old.

Most fans probably know Boreanaz from his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the spin off Angel. He currently stars in the series Bones playing FBI Agent Seeley Booth.

News about the death of the one time “oldest mother” at age 69, leaving behind her 31-month old twin boys, added sparks to the ongoing debate about age and parenthood. The question is basically “How old is too old to have a baby?” The answer has always been left for the biological clock to decide, a clock which seems to tick faster for women than for men. The latest developments in assisted reproduction and in vitro fertilization, however, enabled women to slow down their clock and put off childbearing as late as possible.

One major objection to advanced maternal age is the risk of leaving children motherless at a very young age, as now confirmed by the 69-year old mom’s death.

However, many people think it’s unfair that the age-parenthood question is always argued against women but seldom in men. What about the risk of leaving children fatherless and unprovided for? There are quite a number of men of “advanced paternal age” out there.

• Clint Eastwood supposedly fathered at least 7 children. The youngest is Morgan Eastwood, born in 1996 when her dad was 66. Her mom is Dina Ruiz, 35 years younger than Eastwood.

• Sir Michael John Gambon or rather, Professor Dumbledore. The stage and film Irish actor playing the part in the Harry Potter films. The 68-year old has three boys ranging from 44 to 2 weeks old.

• Hugh Hefner was 65 when his now 18-year old son Cooper was born in 1991. The 83-year old Playboy publisher has 4 children.

• Anthony Quinn. The oldest (if you exclude J. Howard Marshall) and the most prolific who supposedly fathered 10 children with 4 women. He was 81 years old when his youngest was born in 1996.

Although these old men are less likely to leave their little kids unprovided for, kids, too, need their dads in the early years of their life.

He is currently the world’s number one in tennis, easily the best tennis player of all times with 15 Grand Slam Championships Titles under his belt. During the last few months he collected one title after the other, from the French Open to Wimbledon. But for Roger Federer, the best title was to be the proud Daddy of Charlene Riva and Myla Rose. The twin girls were born here in Switzerland on July 23. The babies and Mommy Mirka, also a one-time professional tennis player, are all doing fine. Finally, Roger’s dream of having his child watch him play will soon come true, though it’s two children actually.

The whole country of Switzerland is happy to welcome the two new Swiss citizens. Everybody knew that Mirka and Roger were expecting but the news about having twins were kept a secret up to the time of delivery. As usual, the happy tidings were first posted in Federer’s personal website, just as he did about their nuptials last Easter.

“This is the greatest day of our lives. Mirka, Myla and Charlene are all healthy and doing very well.”, the proud Daddy writes. What a great birthday gift for the tennis star who is turning 28 this coming August 8.

Federer is reported to be taking time off from tennis to spend time with his three ladies big and small but will soon be back on the courts later this summer.

In a recent interview Diego Luna talked about fatherhood and how it has changed him. His wife Camila Sodi gave birth to their son last summer. The baby’s name is Jeronimo, and Luna says that every morning he looks forward to getting up and playing with him. Apparently this is a bit of a change for the formerly late riser. He was quoted as saying, “I love waking up with him. It’s the most beautiful thing ever. The morning was never so good. I used to hate mornings… I used to wear sunglasses. I started to function after 11 or 12.”

They say that being a parent can change you and it seems that Luna can attest to that. He added, “Now, at 5 a.m., I’m playing with my kid and changing diapers. You become a different man.” For many new parents the adjustment, especially to changes in sleep patterns, can be rough. Luna is right however, you do become a different person. Everything takes second place to your little bundle of joy.

He went on to explain his admiration for his wife after getting an even better understanding of the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth. “I have to say I became more in love with her when I realized what a good mother she is,” Luna is quoted as saying. He added, “When you are there and see what they (women) go through, it’s like, ‘Whoa!”

Luna was born in Mexico City on December 29, 1979. As a child he appeared in telenovelas, building quite a reputation for his acting skills. He has appeared in the critically acclaimed Y tu mamá también which was released in 2001. His work in US films has been largely supporting roles but Luna manages to shine alongside bigger stars. He recently played Jack Lira in Milk, the Oscar nominated movie about late US politician Harvey Milk.
We can expect to see more of this talented Mexican actor in the future. He already has three more films lined up for next year but it is too soon to tell how this will impact his early morning play sessions with his son.

Oscar winning actress Mira Sorvino is on top of the world. According to recently published reports she has just given birth to a baby boy. The newborn is her third child with husband Christopher Backus. Their other children are 4-year-old Mattea Angel and 3-year-old Johnny Christopher King.

Placenta Previa Threatened Mira’s life.

Mira developed the condition called placenta previa. This condition occurs when the placenta is attached to the uterine wall sometimes covering the cervix. It generally occurs during the second or third trimester of pregnancy. Less than 1% of pregnancies are affected by this condition.

Thankfully, after being placed on nine-weeks bed rest Sorvino was able to welcome her baby into the world. As a mom she had a rough time being away from her husband and children. She was quoted as saying, “I developed a blood clot due to all the inactivity and had to be anti-coagulated for months to prevent a pulmonary embolism. I spent another two-and-a-half weeks at the hospital, during which time, missing the children and my husband and knowing what the separation was doing to the kids became almost unbearable.”

Life After Pregnancy

Like most moms who go through difficult pregnancies, all problems were forgotten once she met her second son. Sorvino said, “As soon as they placed him in my arms I knew it had all been worth it.”

Sorvino and Backus met when Backus waited on her at a restaurant in West Hollywood in 2003 and have been married since June, 2004. It is certainly good news to hear that Sorvino came through this difficult pregnancy and is now able to enjoy her new baby. Congratulations to her and her husband on the newest addition to her family.

Actor Jason Priestley must be feeling pretty good right now. In the latest bit of good news, his wife Naomi Lowde-Priestley gave birth to a baby boy last Thursday. This is the second child for the couple. They also have a two year old daughter, Ava. So far not many details have been offered about the newest Priestley. The only thing we know is that the baby was born in Los Angeles. Priestley and Naomi have been married since May, 2005. After the birth of Ava, the actor was quoted as saying, “I love being a father. It’s totally ineffable. I love changing diapers. I love the whole thing — I’m all in.” No doubt having to do this times two should bring even more joy to the pair.

Priestley won a legion of fans playing all around good guy Brandon Walsh on the hit series, Beverly Hills 90210. The show had quite a run from 1990 to 2000. Maybe only diehard fans know that Priestley was actually born in Canada – Vancouver British Columbia to be exact. During an appearance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in July 2007, he revealed that he had become an American citizen weeks before.

He had been previously married to makeup artist Ashlee Petersen in 1999, but that union fell apart in 2000. His current wife is also a makeup artist. He has a twin sister named Justine Priestley who also acts. In fact he tried hard to get her to attend auditions for Beverly Hills 90210 so she could play his sister on the show.

Over the last few months celeb babies seem to be arriving almost every week. Congratulations to Jason Priestly and his wife Naomi on the birth of their second child. I wish him the best with his growing family.

UK actor Simon Pegg has become the latest celeb to welcome a new bundle of joy. His wife Maureen McCann had a baby girl over the weekend. Pegg’s representative confirmed the happy news but offered no further details.

Pegg has previously been quoted as saying that he was “hoping for a baby girl.” He was also happy with the prospect of the baby being born in the US saying, “It struck me that, technically, he or she could eventually become President of the United States. The potential is there.” Future Presidential aspirations aside, he does seem to want to be an involved and doting parent. He also said, “I want to be a really good dad, a good influence and a good role model – someone my child can turn to… It’s all to do with your attitude and making sure they stay grounded, but making sure they aren’t deprived of anything.”

Pegg and McCann have been married since July 2005. He is godfather to Apple, the daughter of rocker Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Of course this is not much preparation for his own role as dad, but it certainly can’t hurt. Luckily he has his celeb friends to offer a few helpful tips along the way.

Since gaining fame in the US thanks to his starring role in Shaun of the Dead, Pegg has been quite busy. So busy in fact that he had suggested in the past that his baby would have to born in the US. Most recently he took on the iconic role of Montgomery “Scottie” Scott in the reboot of the Star Trek franchise directed by J.J. Abrams.

Pegg is not the only UK native considering raising his child on this side of the pond. Anna Friel has expressed a desire to raise her daughter Gracie Ellen Mary, in the US. Gracie’s father, actor David Thewlis was also born in the UK. No doubt Pegg’s parenting skills will be nothing like those of the character he displayed in the movie Run Fatboy, Run. Pegg played Dennis Doyle who abandoned his pregnant fiancé at the altar. Eventually he redeems himself by running a marathon. At 39, Pegg definitely seems grounded in his new role as a Hollywood celebrity. He seems likely to be busy for years to come, with The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn among his upcoming projects. That movie will be directed by none other than Steven Spielberg.

Congratulations to first time father Simon Pegg and his wife Maureen McCann on the new addition to their family. Sleepless nights may have him showing up on movie sets just a little worse for wear. Best of luck to this funny actor with his growing family and all his future projects.

Last week two showbiz icons from my youth passed away. For me, Farrah Fawcett was always the sexiest of the Charlie’s Angels from my childhood TV years and Michael Jackson was always the youngest and cutest of the Jackson Five’s and I will always remember him – not for “Thriller” or “Billy Jean” – but for childhood favorites like “Happy” and “Ben”. (Huh, am I giving away my age?)

But these two people are not only celebrities – they are also parents. So what happens to the children when celebrities pass away? The ones who have the normal family set up such as the children of Natasha Richardson seem to fare rather well despite tragically losing their mom. However, I can imagine that things can become complicated in the case of the so-called “patchwork” families. Do they get tangled in custody battles and fights over wills? Do they end up rich like Dannielynn, Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter or end up with nothing like Heath Ledger’s daughter Matilda Rose?

Farrah Fawcett has a 24-year old son with her long time partner Ryan O’Neal. At least he is already an adult and can probably manage on his own despite his drug problems.

Michael Jackson’s family set up is a bit more complicated. He leaves behind three children from two relationships for whom he had full custody. From his second marriage, he had a son Prince Michael Joseph Jr. (12), and a daughter Paris Michael Katherine (11). He had another son Prince Michael Jackson II (7) in 2002 but the identity of the mother was never revealed, although there are speculations that he was born through a surrogate mother implanted with an embryo fertilized with Jackson Sr.’s sperm. With Michael Jackson’s untimely death, I wonder whether he has provided properly for his children, considering the financial problems he had been having lately.

I can imagine that celebrities, especially superstars, can sometimes feel invincible. Even at middle age and beyond, death seems very remote. Does it occur to them that they can’t live forever and that their kids might become orphans? I feel sad for them, but I feel even more for their children especially if they are as young as Michael Jackson’s children. I hope that they won’t be caught in nasty court battles about custody, paternity/maternity and money. I hope that they will be protected from the relentless media coverage.

The deaths of Fawcett and Jackson made me ask myself questions about  life and death, about my children and my family.

How about us who are “mere mortals”? Are we prepared for all eventualities? Do we know what would happen to our children in case something happens to us?

Actor Matthew McConaughey recently celebrated his first Father’s Day with his girlfriend and first child Levi. According to reports the star took the opportunity to go online and share some good news with his fans. He and Camila are expecting another baby.

McConaughey broke the news on his official website. “Happy Father’s Day. It’s my first, and the last 11 months with Levi and Camila have been the most rewarding adventure to date. We have more blessed news to celebrate this Father’s Day that (will) make this time next year double the fun. Levi is going to be a big brother… Yeah, we pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time, Camila and I are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright as the family grows,” he wrote.

Of course, like any proud dad he spoke about his upcoming arrival at other times as well. Case in point the National Conference for Service and Volunteering that was recently held in San Francisco. The actor talked about his j.k. livin’ foundation as well as Levi’s sibling. He said of the foundation, “We are putting after-school fitness and wellness programs into undeserved communities nationwide, teaching physical fitness, nutrition education, with an emphasis on daily gratitude for how much or how little we have. As happens with so many of us, parenthood is clearly affecting the way he sees the world and his place in it. It is good that someone who has the visibility to make a difference can reach out to touch the lives of others. If being a father is what helps to inspire that drive to help the less fortunate then more power to him. Celebrity parents Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker have welcomed two new additions to their family, two baby girls. According to reports online the surrogate who was carrying their twins gave birth on Tuesday morning. The two bundles of joy were born at East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry. Reports indicate that the happy couple was in attendance for the birth.

A representative for the couple was quoted as saying, “The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.” Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weight at birth was 5 pounds and 11 ounces, while Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed an even 6 pounds. Both baby names are said to come from Parker’s side of the family. Reports also indicate that the babies were named immediately after they came into the world.

Broderick and Parker have a son James Wilkie who is now six years old. They had trouble conceiving again which led to their decision to use a surrogate. Sadly once the story broke it took on a life of its own and the ugly side of celebrity reared its head. Media outlets were practically falling over themselves to find out more about the woman carrying the babies. In the latest twist to this story, Barry Carpenter, Martin’s Ferry’s Police Chief, is being investigated following accusations that he tried to pry into the life of the surrogate mother. He was said to be doing this at the request of a tabloid reporter.

Now that the babies are here, it is hoped that the intense interest will die down, and for the sake of the babies they will be allowed some space. In today’s celebrity obsessed world however, that is probably too much to ask for. At one point some reports pointed to Parker being concerned for the surrogate’s safety.

Other celebrities who have used a surrogate to carry their babies include Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance, Karen Duffy, an MTV VJ and actress, Fraser star Kelsey Grammer and his wife Camille.

Congratulations to Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick of the birth of their twins. Both parents have demanding Hollywood careers so they can expect to be even busier going forward.

Actor Hank Azaria recently joined the fatherhood ranks according to reports. His girlfriend Katie Wright gave birth to a baby boy. Although the baby was born prematurely he seems to be doing well. In fact, Azaria’s spokesman was quoted as saying that the newborn was “healthy and strong.” The couple named their newborn Hal.

Azaria, who does a lot of voice over work, revealed that he put his skills to use when communicating with the unborn baby. He was quoted saying, “I get inspired to talk to him like John Lennon occasionally. He seems to like it, he gets very kicky when I talk this way.” We may not all have the voice skills of this talented guy, but many people talk to their babies before they are born. This is a practice that is recommended by some experts as a means of helping the baby get used to the parents’ voices.

Before finding love with his current girlfriend, Azaria was married to actress Helen Hunt of Mad About You fame. The marriage ended after one year. He and Katie Wright have been dating since 2007.

At 45-years old Azaria is certainly not as young as many Hollywood parents but maturity certainly counts for a lot. He is also much younger than some such as Larry King and Michael Douglas.

The busy actor can expect his life to get a little busier now that he has added to his family. There is no word on whether he has plans to add to his brood. No doubt right now he is just enjoying the moment. I certainly wish him and his girlfriend well, and hope for the continued health of the newborn.

That’s how Max Armstrong introduced himself to the world via Twitter on June 4. In the process, he is on his way to catching up with his Dad, the legendary 7-time Tour de France champion and testicular cancer survivor has more than 1 million followers on Twitter. And I thought my 200+ followers was a lot!

Daddy Lance Armstrong now ranks as number 14 in the world in terms of number of Twitter followers, thanks to Max and his bike, right between The New York Times (number 13) and Cold Play (number 15). Not to be outdone, little Max (full name Maxwell Edward Armstrong) also has his own Twitter account now, with over 3,700 followers. Not bad for a 10-day old baby, eh? He is entertaining his followers with cute tweets on hiccups, poops, and passport application. I’m not surprised if collects followers as fast as his Dad. He definitely has won me over!

Max made his entrance with perfect timing: right after Daddy finished Giro d’Italia but before the start of Tour de France (ah, that’s what the passport is for!). At birth, the little celebrity weighed 7lbs 5oz and measured 20 inches long. His mom Anna Hansen and his daddy Lance Armstrong were so happy to welcome Max who was conceived naturally. After recovering from testicular cancer, the chances of natural reproduction for Lance were slim. Max has one half-brother and two half-sisters from Daddy’s previous marriage to Kristin Richard.

Let’s cheer little Max on as he gives his fast Daddy a run for his money!
