Joining the list of celebrities having children later in life is actor Jeffrey Tambor. He joins another list as well, those welcoming twins.

Sixty-four year old Tambor has revealed that he and his wife of eight years, 41-year old Kasia are expecting the new additions to their family in October 2009. The twin boys will join siblings Gabriel Kasper who was born in December 2006 and Eva Julia who was born on December 10 2006. It would have been a pretty interesting time in the Tambor household if the twin boys were also born on December 10th. It’s even more interesting in that Tambor’s eldest child, daughter Molly gave birth to his first grandchild a few days after the birth of Gabriel. Molly’s son was born on December 14, 2004.

Tambor revealed his news on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson on CBS. He said when his wife told him the news he was very excited. Ever in character, Tambor said he’s so sympathetic with his wife that “She gets gas, I get gas.”

Older fans of Tambor may remember him from an episode of Three’s Company and as a regular in its spin-off The Ropers, but his most well known roles have been on Arrested Development and The Larry Sanders Show. Most recently Tambor has also appeared in the Hellboy movies.

Congrats to one of TV’s funniest men on the impending birth. The Tambors are in for some very exciting and interesting times with four kids under six in one household.

It’s going to be a productive year in European sports. I mean in the reproductive sense. You see, some of the best European sports celebrities are becoming first-time fathers this year.

Let’s start with the Swiss tennis star Roger Federer. He and his wife (yes, they are married!) Mirka are expecting. They got married very, very quietly over Easter (April 11) and announced the event on his official website.

Then there is Wayne Rooney, England’s 23-year old star footballer. His wife Coleen is expecting. Rumor has it that the baby is due on October 10 when England will be playing against Ukraine in a World Cup qualifying game. Babies do really pick their dates well, huh? The Sun reports that Coleen is considering an elective C-section before the game so Wayne wouldn’t have to choose between playing and being with her. In the English Premiere League, Wayne plays for Manchester United and has a reputation of being a bad boy. Let’s hope fatherhood will improve his behavior on and off the field.

Next comes the Spanish Formula-1 driver Fernando Alonso and singer Raquel del Rosario. They, too, are rumored to be expecting. Alonso was F-1 world champion twice (2005 and 2006) and currently drives for Renault.

Actress Natascha McElhone?s world was nearly shattered when her husband, plastic surgeon Martin Kelly died from a sudden heart attack. The actress, who was pregnant at the time later revealed that he had called her just 13 minutes before he collapsed, saying how excited he was about the baby and that he couldn?t wait to visit her in LA. McElhone was filming her series Californication at the time.

According to recent reports she has been seen in London with her newborn five months after her husband?s passing. Apparently the delivery was kept a secret, which is understandable given the intense scrutiny celebs sometimes have to endure. No information has been released about the baby, but it has been suggested that the birth took place at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. The baby joins the couple?s two sons, eight year old Theodore and five year old Otis.

I am sure I am not alone in saying my heart goes out to Natascha in her grief, and shares her joy at this new blessing. I am reminded of other women who have had to endure devastating loss while pregnant. Mariane Pearl, wife of journalist Daniel Pearl, who was murdered in Pakistan, comes immediately to mind.

I am also reminded of the widows of those who perished on September 11 who were pregnant at the time. A number of US soldiers fighting in Iraq also never saw their children come into the world. Pregnancy can be difficult, but the added strain of losing a loved one, especially the child?s father is almost unimaginable. It?s easy enough to toss out aphorisms when you find yourself on the outside of a situation like this, but it is the mother to be who will have to find the strength to ensure that she continues to have a healthy pregnancy.

Indeed McElhone should be admired for her strength, as should every woman who has had to deal with loss during what should be one of the most joyous periods of her life. It is the ultimate reminder of the circle of life, and the fact that sometimes we are resilient not because we choose to be, but because we have to be.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I find it ridiculous when celebrities come out in denial of pregnancy rumors when they know that they are in fact pregnant. The latest celebs to deny being pregnant was singer, Ashlee Simpson and her then finance, Pete Wentz; then voila, they are expecting.

Recently numerous photographs of Paris Hilton sporting what was assumed to be a baby bump were published with the question being asked, ‘Is Paris pregnant?’ Of course her reps all came out saying, ‘No, Paris is not expecting a baby.’ However, I no longer believe these celebs and their representatives when they deny pregnancy rumors for in most of the cases it turns out they were lying.

While, I believe celebrities have a right to privacy, I don’t much like being lied to. So you are not ready to tell the world that you are expanding your family, fine, but instead of saying you are not pregnant – don’t say anything. As my mom used to say, ‘It’s something that’s coming, so why say anything – time will tell.’

Most of us have had to wait for three months before announcing that we are pregnant for fear that we may have a miscarriage and I can understand that. I know some persons may disagree with me on how I feel, but I really find it ridiculous that someone denies something that a few months down the line they have to admit to just keep your trap shut. How do representatives of these stars teach their own children about honesty, when they knowingly and forcefully disseminate falsehoods on such a regular basis?

So, is Paris Hilton pregnant? I will just wait and see rather than take her ‘people’s’ word for it; after all time has proven that more often than not, the reps were not being totally honest.

The soon to be 33 year old actress Angelina Jolie who already has one biological child with actor Brad Pitt, is finding pregnancy the second time around a little more challenging. Jolie has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes according to online reports. The actress has been suffering from endema, a condition which causes swelling, as well as extreme nausea and fatigue which are generally more pronounced with multiples. She became aware of developing gestational diabetes a few weeks ago. A source close to Jolie said that ?She?s been seeing a nutritionist about it ? frequently.?

The popular actress is said to be expecting fraternal twins (a boy and a girl) with live-in love Brad Pitt. Jolie and Pitt are the parents of three adopted children, two boys and a girl.

What is Gestational Diabetes?

Gestational diabetes is defined by WebMD.com as ?a condition characterized by high blood glucose (sugar) levels that is first recognized during pregnancy. The condition occurs in approximately 4% of pregnancies.? Although there are certain risk factors for developing gestational diabetes, many women who get the condition do not have any of these risks. Some of these risk factors include:

• Being overweight
• Belonging to the following racial groups: Hispanic, black, Asian or Native American
• Family history of diabetes
• Having a large baby, especially one weighing more than 9 pounds

ET has confirmed that Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are pregnant with their second child. This fantastic news is coming along the heels of another good news, that ‘Tori and Dean: Inn Love’ has been picked up for a third season. ‘Tori and Dean: Still Inn Love’ will follow the couple going back to Los Angeles and looking for a pre-school for son Liam Aaron (now ten months old) while preparing for the newest addition to their family.

The couple’s reps have yet to issue an official announcement, however. Tori waited till she was already four months along with Liam before confirming her pregnancy which will probably be the same case for this one. The couple has been outspoken about their desire for another baby soon after having Liam so they must be ecstatic about being blessed yet again.
