Former Victoria’s Secret model and Project Runway host, Heidi Klum gave birth to her fourth child on October 9th.  Proud musician father Seal, and Mom couldn’t help but release a touching tribute regarding the birth.

“It’s difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children,” Seal writes. “Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?

On Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at 7:46 p.m., the answer to this question came in the form of our fourth child and second daughter,” he continues. “Lou Sulola Samuel was born, and from the moment she looked into both of our eyes, it was endless love at first sight. She is beautiful beyond words and we are happy that she chose us to watch her grow over the coming years.”

Quick check on Google didn’t return any hits for possible meaning or origin of  the unique moniker “Sulola” but I myself like it.  What do you think of the  name?

The Latest Deliveries

If you?re a fan of HBO?s Flight of the Conchords, you?re familiar with Jemaine Clement, the spectacled half of the duo. According to reports, Clement and his wife recently welcomed their first child, a boy named Sophocles Iraia Manasiadis. He was born last month in New York where Clement was filming the second season of his show. Flight of the Conchords follows two New Zealanders as they try to find success as a rock band.

Actress Michelle Monaghan also announced a recent delivery. She gave birth to a baby girl on November 5. The baby, Willow Katherine White was born in Los Angeles. Monaghan has been married to husband, Peter White since August 2005, and Willow is the couple?s first child. Since starring in the TV series Boston Public, the actress has gone on to amass an impressive big screen resume, including Gone Baby Gone, Made of Honor, and Eagle Eye.

Expecting

Actress Julie Bowden is now pregnant with her second child. Many fans may remember her from the TV show, Ed, but she currently stars in Boston Legal. Bowden and husband, Scott Phillips have a son Oliver McLanahan Phillips, who was born in April of 2007. She has also appeared in Lost on ABC, and Weeds on Showtime. She is expected to give birth in spring.

A Breakup

Jamie Pressly of My Name Is Earl has separated from fianc? Eric Cubiche. They have an 18 month old son, Dezi and had been engaged for two years. Pressly was quoted online saying, ?We are taking a break from our relationship, but we are together every day with Dezi and still love each other very much.? We can only hope that they will work out their problems.

Hollywood is never short of news, and baby news always generates a lot of interest. As usual we can expect a lot more news in the future, as the celeb folk continue to find love and start families. Best of luck to the new parents and to all expectant couples as well.

You don’t have to follow celebrity news to know that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are expecting another baby. Their first child, Violet Anne Affleck, was born on December 1 2005.

The latest reports online state that Mr. Affleck will avoid the current trend in Hollywood of giving newborns unusual names. A source close to the actor reportedly said, ‘Ben put his foot down and said no way to trendy Hollywood names.’ Some of us are no doubt nodding their heads in agreement.

While it is the parents right to choose their baby’s name, it’s perfectly normal to be taken aback by some of the choices. Standouts include Penn Jillette naming his daughter Moxie CrimeFighter, Nicholas Cage’s son, Kal-el, as in Superman’s birth name, and Seven Sirius for entertainers Erykah Badu and Andre Benjamin.

Yes a few of these names may prompt a snicker or two, but celebrities aren’t the only ones who do this. Many average couple give their newborns names they hope will standout. A recent story online talked about a couple with the last name Jones, who named their children Dow and Indiana. And who can forget the story of the nine year old New Zealand girl named Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii, who won the right to have her name changed. Apparently it was getting so bad in that country, that the government was forced to ban names like Keenan Got Lucky, Satan, and Fish and Chips among others.

Interestingly, some people feel that names like these are bordering on abuse. At the very least, it could present a social handicap and expose the child to ridicule. One can only wonder if these parents do it for their benefit, or the child’s. I guess time will tell if any of the celebrity baby names mentioned will lead to court cases later on.

Bravo to Ben Affleck for trying to bring some sanity back to naming babies in Hollywood. Maybe it will catch on, but that is unlikely. In the meantime we can no doubt expect a few more Moxie CrimeFighters from the Hollywood set in the coming years.

Oscar award winning actress, Halle Berry and her boyfriend, Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry have finally named their newborn daughter. The couple’s first child was born on Sunday, March 16. The proud parents didn’t name their baby right away as they wanted to meet her first before doing so. According to sources, Halle told her friend, Nancy Odell that the correct pronunciation of Nahla Ariela is GNAW-lah ARE-ee-EL-uh, time will tell what the proper pronunciation is.

The source of the names is up to debate, but it is known that Nahla is ‘honeybee’ in Arabic and Ariela, a Hebrew name means ‘lioness of God.’ The names may also have some connection with Disney movies The Lion King and The Little Mermaid as well. The Lion King had a Nala and The Little Mermaid is Ariel.

It’s good to know that the 41-year old mom and her beau didn’t follow suit in Hollywood and give the little girl a ‘way out’ name as has become the norm. Penn Jillette naming his daughter ‘Moxie CrimeFighter’ comes quickly to mind.

Now, I’m sure everyone is anxiously awaiting the first pictures of little Miss Nahla Ariela Aubry. If reports online are true, the couple has no plans to sell their daughter’s first pictures to the highest bidder.

According to a number of online sources, singer Jennifer Lopez and her musician husband, March Anthony has already named their unborn children. Thirty-eight year old J.Lo as she is popularly known and Marc are expecting twins sometime this year. The babies, according to the reports will be a boy and girl name Max and Emme. It was reported that Lopez?s mother was seen at a New York jewelry store collecting baby identity bracelets which were engraved with the names.

Speculation is currently being banded about that Lopez is actually in labor. However, J.Lo?s camp has denied that she is, but according to Newsday, she is in North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. The article claims that she registered using an alias.

Only time will tell if this is the real deal, but like everyone else I?m anxiously awaiting all the 2008 celebrity births. I?m especially thrilled for Lopez because at 38, this is her first pregnancy.

The babies will bring to five the number of children Marc Anthony has. He has a 13-year old daughter with a New York police officer, Debbie Rosado and two sons, aged six and four with former Miss World, Dayanara Torres.
