Uh Oh SpeghettiO’s… Recall!
The Campbell’s Soup company is recalling 15 millions lbs. of it’s popular children’s soup SpeghettiO’s. The recall stems from an apparent cooker malfunction of the soup during proccessing which has caused the meat and other contents to fail to reach proper temperature before being canned and shipped. Under cooked foods, especially meats, can result in gastrointestinal issues in the body and these issues can become much more severe in young children.
Campbell’s Products Included in the Recall
- SpaghettiO’s with Meatballs
- SpaghettiO’s Fun Shapes with Meatballs
- SpaghettiO’s A to Z with Meatballs
How to Identify Which Cans Are Unsafe
The under cooked lot will have “EST4K” stamped on the bottom and will have a use-by date of “June 2010 – December 2011″
Because the company discovered the issue so quickly, it appears unlikely that the affected products listed above have hit store shelves yet. SpaghettiO’s that have been purchased on or before Thursday June 17 should be safe for consumption.
