Evenflo Carseat Recall
Another baby product is being recalled, but this time not because of lead paint. The Discovery infant car seat series is being recalled by the company. An estimated 1 million of these seats, with model numbers 390, 391, 534, and 552 were produced in April 2005.
The recall is due to a defect that can cause a separation of the base from the seat itself during high impact collision The company is providing a remedy though: free dual hook fasteners for those already owning the seats. They are also producing a revised form of the Discovery series that should be free of the same defect, to be available April and June 2008.
