Macy’s First Impressions Review
I’ve reviewed a lot of products as a blogger, but the package I received from Macy’s to review was the first product I ever received that actually elicited an immediate verbal reaction from me.
It sounded a little something like this: “Aaaaaw!” which loosely translates to “This is so incredibly cute!”
Macy’s new baby line is called First Impressions, and is aptly named because it does indeed make a great first impression. Everything I had the pleasure of reviewing impressed me not only as a mother, but also as a consumer.
The Everyday Value Collection
The layette pieces I received are marketed as being reasonably priced and appropriate for wear everyday. Holding these adorable clothes, it would never dawn on me that they aren’t expensive. The pattern is adorable, but most importantly the fabric is quite soft. That is one of the most important things for baby clothes as far as I’m concerned; you don’t want your newborn to be uncomfortable as a result of itchy fabric. When I did spring for expensive baby clothes for my newborn it was because the fabric was soft, but with this line of affordable baby clothes you don’t have to spend a bundle to ensure your baby’s comfort.
The Satin Hanger Collection
I’ll admit that I melt for little baby boys wearing plaid shorts because it’s just so cute; it’s like they’re going to waddle off in their diapers and go play golf or something. For this reason, I was already in love with the cute baby boy outfit Macy’s sent me from their Satin Hanger Collection. This line is more expensive than the Everyday Value Collection, but holy Toledo, the outfit they sent me is cute. Not only is it soft and adorable, but some of the details are really impressive. For example, the side pockets on the plaid shorts are actual pockets with buttons instead of just being mock pockets. While it’s unlikely that a three month old will appreciate these details, I know that moms certainly will.
Giftables and Accessories
Macy’s First Impressions line also features some really cute gifts such as frames, albums, and other keepsakes. The item I got to review was a plush blue teddy bear. I love these type of teddy bears; this one was so soft that I found myself hugging it a little before I realized what I was doing. The bear I received is perfect for a gift or to buy for your own baby. I can envision this particular bear hanging around for quite some time in a kid’s life.
Cute, Cute, Cute
