What Does Pregnant Hannigan Crave?

How I Met Your Mother cast member, Alyson Hannigan seems to have developed a craving for pickles. According to reports, husband, actor Alexis Denisof knows he better be careful about the pickles he chooses as she knows exactly which ones she wants. He was quoted as saying, If I bring the wrong ones home, she won’t touch them. It has to be the exact right ones. They’re the sweet, kosher pickles. They can’t be the pepper, garlic or whatever – it has to be the right one.

As far as cravings go this is certainly not a bad choice. Pickles are low in saturated fat and cholesterol. They are a good source of Potassium, Manganese, Vitamins A, C and K and calcium. Dietary Fiber and Iron can also be found in pickles, but on a note of caution they do tend to be high in sodium.

Studies show that roughly 85% of pregnant women experience cravings. So if you find yourself yearning for something, even if its a little outside your normal palate, you are not alone. It’s also not unusual for a pregnant woman to crave a particular food then find that she cant stand the sight of it after having the baby.

Reports also suggest that the actress has not yet settled on a name for expected delivery. In what seems like a smart move, she has passed on Dennis Denisof, and has also ruled out her husband’s pick, Bruce. Hannigan and Denisof married in October of 2003. She first found fame for her role in the American Pie movies where she played the chatty, Michelle.

Will we be seeing another unusual baby name coming out of Hollywood this time around? Well, I guess we will know that some time next year. For now, good luck to Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof.
