My SO is a voulunteer firefighter in our rural communtiy. They do everything from responding to structure fires, car accidents, look for missing children, grass fires and watching a farmers controled burn. There is plenty of light duty that a woman could do even if its just helping clean up the trucks or driving to the fire or operating the water pumps on the truck. I think that they should at least be offered the choice between light duty and time off. And as for the testing isn't there any reason why that can't wait to be done untill the baby is born it not like pregency is a perment condition.
