I agree completely cravings are what the baby wants! First pregnancy was all about salad and tomatoes and anything with salsa. My first daughter loves all that stuff. Second pregnancy I had an aversion to tomato’s they would make me puke and i needed Boston cream doughnuts and french fries. These are now two of her favorite foods and she will not eat anything with tomato on it at all even pizza. Third pregnancy I found that i needed lots of sweets, Icecream and jelly beans, My third girl has a super sweet tooth. This time i am pregnant with a boy and i am needing salty things, chips pretzels, olives, just about anything salty. So i agree with Christina i think it has alot to do with the child you are carrying.

With my boy I craved sour jelly bellies like CRAZY!!!! ANything sour I could not get enough of!!! I knew he was male before the ultrasound LOL The funny thing is he now loves anything sour and will not touch cake ice cream or anything sweet. It’s strange but I guess the cravings are what the baby WANTS!!!

I thought I was the only one who couldn’t handle tomatoes during pregnancy. Sorry to hear that you have the same thing Melissa.

While I was pregnant with my second daughter, my husband went insane looking for the rarest food because I had to wake him up in the middle of the night.

I was craving for mangoes, the green ones. Imagine the consternation on my husband’s face. But my hubby is such a sweet guy that he never complained about it. On the flip side, I hated pasta when I was pregnant. In general, i love pasta. Bummer, because I couldn’t eat pasta that time even if I wanted or else I would end up vomiting.

I am with you on the tummy upset with the tomato products…. such a shame I would love a plate of spaghetti or Lasagna…. but alas I would be up all night and sick. : ( The more I think about it though those sardines are sounding yummy!

We have an ultrasound scheduled for the end of March, so we’ll see if the seafood cravings mean it’s a girl for us too.

Dawn, sadly, I seem to have a lot of tummy upset with the tomato products this time around. Had to give up the stuff.

Maybe it will change once the baby is born.

With this pregnancy I have been craving canned salmon on saltine crackers and Smoked Oysters on saltine crackers and shrimp cocktail. This one is a girl… I wouldn’t have thought so based on my cravings COMPLETELY different from with my daughter where I wanted any fruit or veggie I could get my hands on. But this little girl has me going gaga for the seafood. LOL More like cravings from my son… but three different U/S Techs swear that I am having a girl… so we will see.

I am a little over six months pregnant and I have been CRAVING homemade chocolate chip cookies. I never bake. I don’t usually eat sweets. While we are waiting to find out if it is a boy or girl, I have to admit….I think it’s a girl, have from the beginning. I wonder if the “sugar & spice” rhyme is right? Only time will tell… Jeannie
