Maternity Wedding Dresses
Apparently sales of maternity wedding dresses are rocketing. And it’s not all shotgun weddings – far from it. Plenty of moms-to-be who were planning to get married then found out that they were pregnant, and a couple who chose to get married after they discovered they were pregnant, are much more common.
Regular maternity designers are designing wedding dresses, like Stella Maternity and Bella Blue Maternity. And now there are designers who specialize in maternity dress, like Maternity Bride, and UK-based Tiffany Rose. They come in beautiful designs that are as lovely as regular wedding dresses, and they have the ability to adjust in case your bump gets bigger than expected.
You might be wondering… is it OK for a pregnant bride to wear virginal white? Today brides get married in all different colorsĀ and there are plenty of formal non-white maternity dresses to choose from if it feels uncomfortable for you to wear white. Or, if you have dreamed of a white wedding since you were a little girl, go for it! Most people won’t even give your white gown a second thought, after all it is 2009, not 1959.
Now with all those gorgeous dresses, if you are pregnant, and planning to get married, why wait? If you have started planning your wedding and then you discover you are pregnant, it might be easier to stick to the plans instead of delaying. If you are expecting your first child, it’s easier to plan your wedding, and focus on yourself and your husband-to-be, before you have a newborn. You can enjoy your honeymoon with just him, no taking the kid with you, or having to leave baby with a sitter.
Although you can argue for waiting until after your baby is born. Perhaps you’ll want to wait a little while, once baby is a toddler they will make the most adorable flower girl or ring bearer!
