Calculating Your Due Date

calculatingduedate.jpgIf you’ve just found out you’re pregnant and want to know when you can expect your baby’s arrival, follow this simple method to get an approximate due date:

Determine the first day of your last period. If you’ve been keeping track of your menstrual cycles, look no further than your desktop calendar.

Add 7 days,  count back 3 months, add 1 year.

For example, assume January 4, 2008, was the first day of your last period. Add 7 days to get January 11, 2008. Count back 3 months to get October 11, 2007. Add 1 year to get October 11, 2008 as the calculated due date.

Remember that these dates are approximate. Seek the advice of your care provider, who will determine the due date more accurately. Additionally, have fun with the due date calculator at Babies Online and then keep track of your pregnancy week by week.
