		<description>I definitely do not believe spanking is the most effective form of discipline.  I do think if it is used as the primary form of discipline, problems as described above may result later in life.  However, I also think an occasional spanking is not going to sexually scar a child for life.  I do agree there are many reasons not to spank and that other forms of discipline can be more effective and also create a better, safer, less threatening atmosphere in the home.  There is a really great debate about spanking at www.opposingviews.com/questions/is-spanking-an-acceptable-form-of-discipline.  Experts from both sides debate the issue, and the Center for Effective Discipline takes the anti-spanking side, making some good points about why not to spank.</description>
