Just for the record, I'm on the fence on this. So far, have only drank an alcoholic beverage when hubby is around to watch over both of us :) As for the mom's group in Cali (we have one here too in Texas btw hehe), the situation you described should be fine. If there were designated moms who abstained and could watch the others, why not have a glass of mimosa?
