I have twin boys who both started walking at 10.5 months. I was happy when they`d run in the same direction which wasn`t quite often. We had railings separating the living room from the rest of the house till they were almost 3 just so I could turn my back and still be assured that they were safe. Those were the days when I really wished for that extra pair of eyes at the back of my head...

I have a runner too...I could see it in his eye before he could even walk that when the opportunity presented itself he would be long gone. For more than a year he made a mad dash every chance he got. He's a getting better now, at almost 2 1/2, but even now by the end of nearly every shopping trip he is banished to the cart.

I say forgot the leash - how about a new pair of running shoes - for baby and mommy!
