John Travolta’s son dies at age 16
The worst possible thing that could happen to a parent has happened to actor John Travolta. His son, Jett, age 16, lost his life after having a seizure and falling and hitting his head late Friday morning.
Travolta, his wife Kelly Preston, son Jett and eight year old daughter had been vacationing at their Bahamas home since Tuesday.
Jett’s body was discovered by a caretaker and soon after was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, where he was pronounced dead. He had a history of seizures.
I find it hard to comprehend how a person is able to go on after the untimely loss of a child. There will be huge spaces in the hearts of Travolta, Preston and their daughter, as well as in those of other family members and friends. I’m sure that my heart is one of many that go out to them in this incredibly difficult time.

People who have lost a child have no choice but to go on. There are other people to consider and even in the darkest moments you need to remember those people to pull yourself through. Is it easy… no way. There are other kids though who are hurting… a spouse who is hurting… grandparents who are hurting. And while no two people mourn in the same way… they ARE all hurting… To not go on is not an option worth even thinking about… when you consider how much you are hurting and then imagine all of those people who are hurting along with you having to hurt the loss of you too. So you pick up and you move your feet until you don’t have to remind yourself to move your feet. And then you work on remembering the good times… you think about what memories YOU would want others to have… and the rest comes with time. It gets better with time it really does.
