It makes you feel more secure! I agree with mama2bean that they should make something like that for parents with toddlers! The hospital where my son was born had a very similar type of device that's described in the article, and when all of our papers were signed and we were officially discharged, it was deactivated. During activation,one couldn't remove the child from the floor of the hospital that you were on(at any type of exit) without the alarm being triggered. I'd love to see something like that though commercially--not only for babies, but for those toddlers who get adventurous and are off in the middle of a crowd at the blink of an eye.
