What would you do if you lost everything?
It should be the happiest time of her life. Instead, an Albuquerque mother is mourning the loss of almost everything she owns.
Melissa Spalding, a former Babies Online employee, and her two children moved home from Chicago to Albuquerque to get married. Staying with a friend before her November wedding, she put all her and her children’s belongings into the storage area of a building her church uses to house Christian students.
Last night, the building caught fire. Firefighters managed to evacuate the building and extinguish the flames and no-one was injured, but the storage area and all inside were devastated.
The family has lost everything to smoke damage. Thankfully, the photos and keepsakes she thought were burned were salvageable!
