I totally agree. If by some minor miracle I am able to get ready to go out AND have secured a baby sitter for a few hours, the LAST place I want to be going is one of these "parties". Are there women who actually enjoy going to these things? Count me as not one of them. Enjoyed your post.

I'm with you, I don't like these parties either. I might be wrong, but I don't even think moms make much money from them? I skipped a jewelry party last week, I've got no spare money for sparkly things and I felt really awkward going.

I'm sure you're not the only mom who feels that way... for a while, I was sure I was the only one who actually *enjoyed* these parties.

See... I don't feel compelled to buy something I don't want just to avoid being rude. I enjoy the product demonstrations and like seeing the different sales techniques the women use. When they pass around the order forms, sometimes I will say I can't make up my mind and take a book home to "think about it," or sometimes I will just say, "I really don't need any of this right now."

I agree that your experience w/ Pampered Chef was totally gross!! I'd never go back to that woman's house for any sort of party, for sure! If that's what she does with people watching, I'd hate to see how she preps for a party before guests arrive.

Dawns last blog post..<a href="http://allcotmedia.blogspot.com/2008/07/bunko-babes-review.html">The Bunko Babes, A Review</a>
