Online health chat on toy safety at Cleveland Clinic
Now, here’s something that parents with little children – and Santa – shouldn’t miss. On Friday, December 12, 2008 – 12 noon (EST), Cleveland Clinic is organizing a holiday special as part of its Online Health Chat series. The topic is Safe Toys Means Great Holidays. Hosting the chat is Michael Macknin, MD of the Pediatric Institute and Children’s Hospital of the Cleveland Clinic. He is an expert on child safety and likes to share his expertise with parents. He is strong advocate of the car seat, sun, toy safety, and safe home environment. He also recommends that parents check out the following site on this topic:
American Academy of Pediatric website http://www.aap.org/publiced/BR_ToySafety.htm
Consumer Product Safety Commission websites http://www.cpsc.gov/KIDS/kidsafety/index.html
You can read more about Dr. Macknin here.
Anybody can participate and submit questions. Just create and account beforehand and log in on the day of the event. You can also submit your questions one day in advance. And it’s all for free!
This is a great service from a clinic which is ranked as the 4th best hospital in the US by the U.S. News & World Report survey 2008. In addition, it is ranked no. 1 in cardiac care 14 years in a row!
Now, isn’t it great that technology enables us to make use of Cleveland Clinic’s expertise even those we live hundreds, thousands of miles away from Ohio? See you in the chatroom.
