Richie and Madden Making Harlow a Big Sis
This year seems to be shaping up for another influx of celebrity births. The newest celebs to announce an impending addition to their family is Nicole Richie and her longtime boyfriend, Joel Madden. Madden, who is a member of the band, Good Charlotte announced the good news on his band’s website on February 22. He wrote, “What’s better than winning an Oscar? I am so happy to tell everyone that Harlow is going to be a big sister! God has truly blessed our family.” The news comes complete with a cool family portrait of Madden, Richie and one-year old Harlow.
The couple’s first child, daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born on January 11, 2008. Like many celebrity parents, Richie gave People Magazine first rights to pictures of baby Harlow for a cool fee of $1 million dollars according to reports. Twenty-seven year old Richie and 29-year old Madden seem to be enjoying their roles as parents.
Richie, who despite earlier troubles seems to have embraced motherhood, was quoted as saying, “I don’t think you can plan anything about having a child. It’s something so completely new, so you just have to go with whatever works for you. There’s a million different ways to be a mom.” I can imagine a lot of moms out there nodding their heads at that one, I certainly am.
This must be good news for singer Lionel Richie in more ways than one. His daughter Nicole Richie seems to have successfully gotten her life back on track. Judging by reports, Nicole Richie is excelling as a mother. Congrats are in order for this young couple as they embark on another adventure in the land of parenthood.
