Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber Welcome Second Baby
Oscar nominee, Naomi Watts and her husband, Liev Schreiber are parents for a second time. Watts gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday. A representative for the couple was quoted as saying, “I can confirm that she had a baby boy yesterday.” The name of the newest addition to the family is as yet a family secret.
Watts and Schreiber have been a couple since meeting on the set of the 2006 movie The Painted Veil. The couple’s first child, Alexander Pete Schreiber, was born July 2006. Watts gushed about young Alexander in an interview earlier this year, “He’s turning pages in the book. He’s crawling and standing up.” Like any other new mom, she was excited about what he was able do such as waving. She also revealed in the interview that she read Goodnight Moon to him every night. For those not in the know, Goodnight Moon is an excellent choice for your baby. It’s a fun read, and I have fond memories of reading it to my little one. Although he is four now he still requests it from time to time.
Aside from her seemingly great taste in children’s books, Watts might not be too keen on the unusual baby name trend. Well, if the name of her firstborn is anything to go by. Here’s an interesting bit of trivia; Watts and Schreiber met while playing a romantically involved pair who were married to other people. I guess whatever it takes to create that spark right?
Watts has amassed a pretty impressive body of work in Hollywood, becoming one of the industry’s most respected actresses. She received her academy award nomination for 21 Grams. Fans will also remember her from movies such as Eastern Promises and King Kong. Schreiber has appeared in the Scream series as well as Kate & Leopold among others.
Congratulations to the happy couple on this addition to their family. Juggling the demands of successful Hollywood careers and family may not be easy, but as so many parents can attest, it is certainly rewarding.
