What You Eat Does Affect The Taste Of Breast Milk

If you have ever found that your baby doesn’t want to nurse after your lunch? Moms have long suspected that what they eat affects their breast milk, and researchers in Denmark have found that food does indeed flavor breast milk.

They tested several flavors, including banana, menthol, and liquorish, and all were detectable in breast milk within 2 hours of the mom eating the food.

Proponents of breast feeding have claimed that this is a fact for years, and that breast fed babies are less fussy eaters because they are exposed to new flavors and tastes from birth, and are more receptive to trying new foods.

Tell that to my son - he had grilled cheese for lunch for the 46th day running today.

Well, the theory sounds good. And if your baby won’t nurse after you had fajitas for dinner. well, perhaps that might be the reason why.
