Celebrity Pregnancy Alert!
The following blurb is from celebritypregnancy.com: British singing sensation Lily Allen, 22, is pregnant with her first child, reports People.com. Allen has been dating Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers since September and he is reportedly the father.
You can read more about it HERE.
Allen’s desire to retire early so she can concentrate on raising a family is not a new tune. Tennis superstar Kim Clijsters retired at the top of her game, announcing her decision when she was world number 2 at the time, to settle down and play with her dogs (yes, she really said that and she really loves her dogs). She is expecting her first child with basketball player Brian Lynch in the first half of 2008. Clijsters talks about her pregnancy HERE.
New mothers are getting younger again after what seemed a trend of the modern age to have children in your 30s. My mother started having us when she was 22 and by the time she gave birth to our youngest brother, she was 30. At that age, I had just gotten married and would have my first child a year later. I thought I was part of an emerging norm but celebs like Allen and Clijsters are walking down the path women 30 years ago used to tread. Do you think that because this is happening to many high profile celebrities (think Nicole Ritchie, Britney Spears, and little sister Spears), younger girls might follow suit? We can always strut out Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, and Selma Hayek if the debate heats up. What do you think?
