I am surprised as well! When I decided to breastfeed my little one, I received mostly negative reactions. People couldn't believe that I would even want to try it, and most only had negative things to say and plenty told me I wouldn't to be able to do it. Well, my little boy is now weaned (he is 18 months) and I am now nursing my little girl (3 months old) and I can't imagine having to sterilize bottles, deal with all the different kinds of formula, and not to mention the EXPENSE of having to buy formula! I say to all preggos out there, give breastfeeding a fighting chance, not only is it sooo much easier that bottle-feeding (night-time feeds mean just rolling over!), it is cheaper and the ultimate benefit: the satisfaction of knowing that you are starting off giving your child the VERY best thing in the world, not to mention that it such a beautiful thing to share with your child. I think that nursing has gained popularity again because women are finding these benefits and realize that it isn't the horrible experience so many have made it out to be.
