I personally hated the commercial, both versions, and I do find it crass and bordering on offensive. I was raised that polite people, especially women, don’t discuss using the toilet in public, so to see a commercial mentioning it that way, and with a picture of urinating, was just disgusting. I wish they’d get rid of both versions. Adults urinating is something done with the door closed in my opinion. And yes, I’m a mother, of a two year old, and she doesn’t use the word “pee” either (I don’t think she’s ever heard the word except on that commercial). I breastfeed in public (and I do mean breastfeeding my two year old in public), just like I eat in public, but no, I don’t urinate in public (and neither does my daughter, except in her diaper…we’re working on that). So I don’t think it’s just about stuffy moms…it’s about class and dignity. Pregnancy is such a special, wonderful thing that I hate seeing it demeaned to such a classless, crass, disgusting commercial.

don’t say pee. don’t breastfeed in public. don’t talk about sex. don’t have sex. don’t talk to strangers (ok kids shouldn’t talk to strangers but I like meeting new people :)don’t talk about your period. don’t discipline your children. don’t make comments because you might offend someone. don’t eat luncheon meat. don’t stare. don’t talk back. don’t questions authority. don’t do anything that is remotely fun or funny. Giggling is no longer allowed. It might hurt someone feelings. God (ops, don’t say God) forbid we laugh at oursleves.

One more thing… don’t let them get ahold of the product for mummy’s of boys called the “Pee-pee Teepee.” I am sure they would riot over that… ooooh… or the “Hooter Hider” by Bebe Au Lait! Lol…

Okay… that is just dumb! It was one of my favorites for funny commericals! I say, this day in age, where anything goes… I find it hillarious that this is what the stuffy mums chose to get in a tiffy over!

Same for me, I thought it was not very classy, but very funny. And it’s true that if a soon-to-be mom can’t get a sense of humor about pee now, she’s in for real trouble. I imagine that it was not future mother’s who complained about this ad, though…

I thought it was a great commercial (the original) and was happy that someone in the pregnancy test industry had a sense of humor. I would have never thought it offensive and what human being has never heard the word “pee on”????
