Remember that moment in The Christmas Story where Ralphie got his tongue stuck to the flag pole? He agonized to get his tongue free but no matter how he tugged and pulled, he was stuck. Well two 4th grade boys from Jackson Elementary didn’t believe that could happen. They apparently haven’t had thermal conductivity lectures in science class just yet. That’s a shame because they would have spared themselves some embarrassment and pain this last Flag Day when the boys tested their theory on that cold winter morning.
“I decided to try it because I thought all of the TV shows were lies, but turns out I was wrong,” one boy said. The boys parents recieved phone calls informing them of what their children tried to do and were given explanations as to why both of the boys tongues were bleeding. The school nurse never did receive an answer to her question “OK, who double-dog dared who?”
