Courtney Thorne-Smith Welcomes a Baby Boy

courtneythornesmith.jpgActress Courtney Thorne-Smith and husband Roger Fishman welcomed their first child, Jacob ‘Jake’ Emerson, on Friday. Thorne-Smith gave birth at L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera were also reportedly in labor. Sources say Thorne-Smith was almost two weeks overdue but refused to be induced and went into labor on her own last evening.

Thorne-Smith, 40, and Fishman, 47, were married on New Year’s Day 2007. The two met on an airplane in 2004. The actress is known for her current role on ‘According to Jim’ as well as her previous roles on ‘Melrose Place’ and ‘Ally McBeal’. Fishman owns a media company. Both mom and baby are reportedly doing well.
