Traffic Fumes Found to Stunt Fetus Growth

A new study shows fetuses whose mothers are exposed to heavy exhaust fumes may experience stunted growth.Researchers took ultrasound scans from 10 years and compared them with the postal codes of the mothers. Using those codes, the researchers were able to estimate the amount of pollution exposure the women experienced.
Comparing the exposure levels and ultrasound scans, the babies who were exposed to higher levels were smaller in size in the womb. The researchers say heavier fetuses have higher IQ’s and are healthier adults.
