Long touted to be one of the most child-friendly countries, Sweden already offers free parenting classes to parents of newborns and it is now looking to offer classes to parents of older children.
According to the Swedish National Institute of Public Health, the number of parents taking free classes doubled in the last three years, from two percent to seven. And 99 percent of parents who took the classes would recommend them to others.
How cool would it be to have a program like this in the States? Think about the parenting connection you could make across socio-economic lines. With free classes you would get the parents who desire to be good parents and learn more, but don’t have the means to pay for expensive classes.
