Four months pregnant, Kerry Katona had a tattoo done. Katona who is pregnant with her fourth child had the name of her 10-month old daughter, Heidi, inked into the back of her neck. Reports online said that her taxicab driver husband, Mark Croft held her hand while the procedure was being done.
I know some of you are wondering if getting a tattoo while pregnant is safe. There is little information on how safe tattoo inks are during pregnancy, however, the main concern remains the same, getting the tattoo done at a reputable place. This should help lower the chance of an infection.
As a matter of fact, many parlors will not give a tattoo or piercing to pregnant women as some persons may develop an allergic reaction to the skin dye used. The effect of this on a developing fetus is unknown and the risk isn’t generally seen to be worth it. There are other reasons why most tattooists will not give one to a pregnant woman, such as the risk of fainting. Some persons do pass out when getting a tattoo and no one wants this to happen to a pregnant client. Some feel that because skin changes and may even stretch due to weight gain in pregnancy, the look of a tattoo will change after birth and may not be as pleasing to look at.
Some experts feel however that since the ink is applied only to the area just below the skin, it should not have a negative impact on the fetus. Ultimately, the decision have a tattoo while pregnant is a personal one, but one that should not be taken lightly… what’s a few months if you can wait until after delivery?

I don’t think its a good idea to get a tatoo while you’re pregnant,it might not harm the new baby but why take the chance. Wait until your baby is born, then get your tattoo.
