What does Abraham Lincoln, Lyndon B. Johnson, Bill Clinton, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson have in common aside from being U.S. presidents?
They were all Mama’s boys.
I first came across the fact in Paul Harvey’s ‘The Rest of the Story’ which was later confirmed by the publication of The Raising of a President (The Mothers and Fathers of Our Nation’s Leaders) by Doug Wead.
It seems that the impact of very nurturing mothers translated into such self-realizations in their sons that they ended up leading the most powerful Nation, thus changing the world. Of course, their mothers were great women themselves to have inspired greatness in their sons, teaching about courage and righteousness and strength by example.
So when other people criticize your close relationship with your son, you can tell them just how great mama’s boys can turn out.
